I found illegal content. Where can I report it?
Many users have questions about how to deal with spam, inappropriate, or prohibited content? The answer is simple, you can complain to the Telegram service about unscrupulous materials and illegal user actions.
Complaint about illegal content
If you notice:
- Shocking or frightening materials;
- Content containing scenes of violence;
- Pornography;
- Sale of drugs;
- Fraud;
- Animal abuse;
- Dangerous or offensive content;
- A call to commit suicide.
You must immediately report these materials distributed by the user or the community. There are several ways to report inappropriate content on Telegram:
- Report a channel or group (community);
- Report content (post);
- Report about a user.
Consider each of the options for reports.
Report a channel or group
Via smartphone:
If you want to report a channel, click on the channel’s name or icon. Next, the channel description section will open, where you need to click on the More button, after which the Report button will appear.
Next, select the reason for submitting the report. If none of the reasons suits you, select Other and describe the reason for the report.
Via computer:
To send a report through the Desktop version of the application, go to the channel and click on the ellipsis or the channel name.
After the channel description section opens, scroll to the end of the section and click on the Report button. You can also click on the ellipsis in this section, where the Report button will also be displayed.
Next, select the reason for sending the report.
Report content
Via smartphone:
To report content, hold down the post or post you want to report for a few seconds. Select Report from the menu that appears. Next, select the reason for sending the report.
Via computer:
To send a report through the Desktop version of the app, go to a channel and right-click on a post. Select Report from the menu that appears. Next, select the reason for submitting the complaint.
Report a user
If you want to send a report about a specific user, go to the Settings section and click on the Help button (for a smartphone) or the Ask a question button (for the desktop version of the application).
Next, you will see a warning that volunteers answer in the support chat, and the waiting time for a response may take some time. After clicking on the OK button, the Volunteer Support bot will open, where you need to click on the Start button.
Select the menu item I want to report a problem and Report a violation. Next, describe the problem and specify the user’s nickname in the @nick format.
Important! The bot will not give an answer but will study the report and take the necessary measures.
