How to create a channel on Telegram?

Telegram channels are analogous to groups and communities in social networks, with a few exceptions: group members can’t write messages but only view posts. Many users use channels as a tool for business or personal blogging.

Creating channels on the Telegram messenger

There are two types of Telegram channels:

Public. You can find them in the search, and anyone can subscribe to them;
Private. You can’t find them in the search, and you can subscribe to them only by the invitation link;

The process of creating a channel when using a smartphone or desktop version of the application is different. Next, consider the procedure for creating a Telegram channel through a mobile application:

Launch the messenger and click on the Write a message button;
Click on the Create a group section;
Choose future members of your channel;
Enter the name of the channel (optionally attach an image for the group avatar);

You’re all set! Your first channel has been created.

The process of creating a Telegram channel through the desktop version of the application:

Launch the messenger and go to the Menu section;
Select Create a Channel;
Enter the name of the channel (optionally, you can enter a description) and click on the Create button;

You’re ready! You will see your channel in the list of dialogs.
